(Bqp.vn) - Defence Minister General Phan Van Giang attended a ceremony held by the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army to kick off a tree-planting festival on February 12.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defence Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong asked party committees and chains-of-command of units under the General Staff to promote information dissemination and education to raise their personnel’s awareness of the great significance of tree planting and forest protection.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong stressed that agencies and units under the General Staff should carefully take care of the trees and apply information technology and technical advances to raise the effectiveness of trees. He also asked agencies and units to regular check and evaluate their personnel’s tree planting and protection and honor those with great achievements in the work in a timely manner.
