Vietnam is ready to deploy the Engineering Unit Rotation 1 to participate in UN peacekeeping operations
(Bqp.vn) - Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Minister of National Defence had a working session with the United Nations Pre-Deployment Visit (PDV) when it comes to inspect Vietnam’s Engineering Unit Rotation 1, which is going to take mission at the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) in Hanoi on December 6.

Speaking at the working session, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien emphasized that the participation of the Vietnam People’s Army in UN peacekeeping operations affirms Vietnam’s responsibility in participating in UN peacekeeping activities, making a practical contribution to maintaining security, peace and stability in the region and in the world.

Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien hoped that the PDV would help the Engineering Unit Rotation 1 complete its preparations before taking the missions at UNISFA.

According to the plan, the PDV would inspect the organization, personnel, equipment, training, capacity of the Engineering Unit Rotation 1. The PDV’s inspection results will be reported to the United Nations for approval to deploy the Vietnam’s Engineering Unit Rotation 1 to UNISFA.
