(Bqp.vn) - Defence Minister General Phan Van Giang hosted a reception for Cuban Minister of Construction René Antonio Mesa Villafana in Hanoi on March 28.

General Phan Van Giang emphasized that the special relationship that has lasted for more than 60 years has been cultivated and developed by generations of leaders of the Party, State, People and Army of the two countries. He also thanked Cuba for its timely support to Vietnam in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

General Phan Van Giang stressed that Vietnam appreciates Cuba’s experience and strength in the field of construction. Therefore, the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence decided to select the DINVAI Company under the Cuban Minister of Construction to supervise its Truong Son Dong Road Project, he noted, adding that the two sides have cooperated well to ensure the project’s progress and quality over the past time.
General Phan Van Giang affirmed that the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence would create best conditions for the sides to fulfill their assigned missions as well as expand cooperation in the construction sector in line with the countries’ laws and international practices.

For his part, Mr. René Antonio Mesa Villafana thanked the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence for creating conditions for Cuba to participate in its Truong Son Dong Road Project, expressing the willingness to participate in other projects of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence in the coming time.
