Defence leader receives Counsellor for police affairs at the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam

(Bqp.vn) - In Hanoi on May 29, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Defence Minister received Counsellor for police affairs at the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam Wang Ben.

At the reception, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien emphasised that on the basis of the two countries’ traditional friendship and political trust, defence cooperation remains an important pillar of bilateral relations and has been carried out fruitfully and substantively. Land border cooperation has been reinforced, including in managing and protecting the borderline, opening and upgrading border gates, and promoting tourism and trade ties. Exchanges, twinning, and joint patrols between the border guard forces and the units based along the shared border have been carried out frequently, helping build a Vietnam - China land border of peace, stability, and development.

Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien asked the two sides to continue grasping and implementing the common perceptions reached by the two countries’ leaders, along with the signed cooperation documents. They should also further step up border friendship exchanges such as those between young officers and between Vietnam’s border guard force and China’s National Immigration Administration, he added.

For his part, Counsellor for police affairs at the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam Wang Ben expressed his hope to contribute to promoting the growing relationship between the two countries in general and between the two countries’ border management and protection forces in particular.
