Defence leader receives Russian Ambassador to Vietnam

(Bqp.vn) - On June 26 in Hanoi, Deputy Defence Minister Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien hosted a reception for Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Stepanovich Bezdetko.

At the reception, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien stressed that Vietnam always treasures the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia. Defence cooperation has continued to be rolled out effectively in the fields of delegation exchange, training, scientific research in the framework of the Vietnam - Russia Tropical Centre, military technology, and military history, he said.

Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien proposed that the two sides continue to effectively implement the defence cooperation plan for 2023, especially joint activities of the two defence ministries such as the 6th Defence Strategic Dialogue at the deputy defence minister level, and the conference of the Coordinating Committee for the Vietnam - Russia Tropical Centre.

On this occasion, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien asked Ambassador Bezdetko in his position to pay attention to and develop the bilateral defense cooperation, contributing to strengthening relations between the two countries.

For his part, Ambassador Bezdetko affirmed that the Russian Defence Ministry always wants to strengthen cooperation with the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence. He pledged to try his best to prepare for the joint activities of two defence leaders in the coming time.
