(Bqp.vn) - On September 25, Defence Minister General Phan Van Giang hosted a reception for Lao Ambassador Sengphet Houngboungnuang who came to say goodbye before ending his working term in Vietnam.

General Phan Van Giang praised contributions by Ambassador Sengphet Houngboungnuang to the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, stressing that in its foreign policy, Vietnam attaches importance and gives the highest priority to consolidating and enhancing its relations with Laos. General Phan Van Giang also highlighted the ambassador’s attention to the bilateral defence cooperation - an important pillar of the Vietnam - Laos relations, and expressed his belief that Ambassador Sengphet Houngboungnuang would contribute to fostering the relationship between the two countries in the time to come.
General Phan Van Giang emphasized that the defense cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in recent years remains a crucial aspect of their bilateral relationship. Both nations actively provide valuable guidance to their respective military and defense sectors through timely and efficient coordination with top leaders.

For his part, Ambassador Sengphet Houngboungnuang said he witnessed many achievements in the bilateral relations during his term in Vietnam, and spoke highly of cooperation outcomes between the two defence ministries. He also promised to make more contributions to the Vietnam - Laos relations, including defence cooperation.
