ActionsDefence Ministry reviews enrolment work
(VDP) - Lieutenant General Pham Xuan Hung, Deputy Chief of the General Staff and the first Deputy Head of Military Enrolment Board of the Ministry of National Defence, on December 4th chaired a conference to review the enrolment in 2013 and deploy tasks in 2014 for 100 units in the whole army.
At the conference, Lieutenant General Nguyen Duc Tinh, Director of the Department of Schools, said that under instructions of the Ministry and efforts of units, localities, academies and schools, ịn 2013, the quality of military enrolment work improved, with a 74% increase in registered students compared to 2012.
The conference also pointed out some shortcomings in enrolment and career guidance over the past time.
Addressing the conference, Lieutenant General Pham Xuan Hung asked units, localities and schools to work out plans on human resources training, as well as work with local party committees and authorities, and departments of education and training to provide career guidance for youth.
Schools were also asked to take measures to raise the enrolment quality in the time to come. He added that military enrolment work in 2014 should be in line with the latest enrolment regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
