ActionsMilitary businesses’ conference to be held in Hanoi
(Bqp.vn) - General Phung Quang Thanh, Minister of National Defence chaired a military businesses’ conference on February 25, 2014 to review the implementations in 2013 and set out the tasks for 2014 for military businesses.
General Phung Quang Thanh concludes the conference.
Under the leadership and direction of the Ministry of National Defence, military businesses gained great achievements in 2013. In comparison with the year 2012, they achieved a turnover of 247,413 billion VND (up to 10 percent) and profit of 39,776 billion VND (up to 28.3 percent), contributed 18,624 billion VND to the State budget (up to 11.5 percent). Viettel, one of the laggest businesses in the fields of telecommunications and information technology in Vietnam, had a turnover of 162.8 trillion VND (up to 39 percent against the year 2012) and profit of 36.1 trillion (up to 28 percent), contributed 13.5 trillion VND to the Stage budget. Saigon New Port Corporation, one of Vietnam’s leading ports, took stake of 65.54 percent of Ho Chi Minh City’s market and 42.87 percent nationwide…
Concluding the conference, General Phung Quang Thanh highly appreciated the efforts of military businesses in contributing to the development of the national economy, enhancing the capabilities and strength of the Vietnam People’s Army, of which many businesses have successfully fulfilled their other tasks. He also urged military businesses and relevant agencies to make effective combinations between economy and defence and vice versa in implementing their tasks, actively make use of any opportunities in operating businesses in order to make the Army stronger, and the country develop as well.
