Enterprises honoured with national and regional quality awards

(Bqp.vn) - Eighty-two outstanding Vietnamese enterprises were presented with National Quality Awards and Global Performance Excellence Awards in Hanoi on March 16. Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam and Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan attended the awards ceremony and presented the gold prize and the Government's Certificate of Merit to the 20 best enterprises.

Of the total, 20 enterprises were given the gold award and the others received silver at the annual awards ceremony. The Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank) and Traphaco Joint Stock Company (Traphaco) were both awarded the Global Performance Excellence Award (GPEA) by the Asia-Pacific Quality Organisation (APQO).

Deputy PM Dam said that the winners are a great source of encouragement for the Vietnamese business community.

He called on businesses to continue improving their productivity and to apply high-technology in production to increase competiveness in both the domestic and international markets.

The National Quality Awards is held annually by the Ministry of Science and Technology as a way to honour outstanding Vietnamese enterprises who have achieved excellence in their quality of goods production and services.

Since 1996, more than 1,500 enterprises have been honoured with the National Quality Award and 31 enterprises received GPEA.
